Peroni has to one of the biggest beer success stories ever. From humble beginnings in small-town Vigevano in 1846, it’s grown to be one of Italy’s most famous and most fashionable exports. It’s on the menu in pizzerias from Sicily to Stockholm, and promoted by an aspirational marketing campaign.

This beer is Peroni’s second foray into the alcohol-free world. Peroni 0.0 replaces Peroni Libera, which we found a bit too sweet and fruity. Peroni 0.0 is a much better drink than its predecessor. In short, it’s more beery. It’s a lot bitterer than Peroni Libera, and more bitter than standard strength Peroni – with a nice hoppy aftertaste you don’t normally get in an Italian beer.

Appearance-wise, it’s great. Peroni have always done a good serve, and this drink is no exception. It comes in a smart green bottle, labelled largely in Italian, promising an “qualitá superiore”.
