When Lidl’s 2019 Scottish Gin Festival included this 0% spirit, we kind of knew that alcohol-free spirits had arrived.

Cerocero has been created by Spirits of Virtue in Inverclyde, and although it’s got high-end packaging, it comes at a very reasonable price of £9.99, which is less than half the cost of some of its competitors.

According to the producers, it’s got a “juniper core” but we didn’t fine it very similar to a traditional gin. More obvious to our taste testers were the pine, citrus and loganberry. In that respect, it’s similar to a lot of the newer gins on the market, which include a host of fruity flavours.

Lidl recommend mixing it with their Mediterranean Tonic, which seems to work quite well. If you’re one of the thousands of drinkers who’ve been driving the gin revolution over the last few years, you may wish to give this one a go.
