Like a lot of the new alcohol-free drinks hitting the market these days, this one has a good story to tell. After completing 100-day alcohol-free challenge, Morten Sørensen wanted to “turn the tables on the social norms of drinking” and create a drink for “those who can tear up the dance floor completely sober, and for those who simply want to wake up with a clear head on a Sunday morning”. So, he created Rumish, alongside Ginish.

Distilled in Denmark, it comes in a smart bottle with a neat black and copper design. It has a cheerful Christmas pudding aroma, and although it feels a little bit thin in the mouth, it has a lovely warming aftertaste – almost hot. There are plenty of suggestions on how to mix it on the company’s website. And there’s a nice little video, in Danish with an explanation in English, on the thinking behind the drink.

You can pick some up in Holland and Barrett.
