Corona is a Mexican beer that’s big in the United States, although this Corona Cero is actually brewed in Belgium. It’s got the look of Corona Extra, with the crown, winged creatures, and gothic lettering. It steers well clear of the dull packaging that makes so many alcohol-free beers look and feel a like a Hobson’s choice.

There are lots of big-brand alcohol-free lagers on the market, and it’s hard to stand out, but this one does. It’s a light golden beer, not too sweet, not too bitter, and really refreshing when chilled – ideal for a hot summer’s day. It’s perhaps a little heavier than some lagers, but it’s hard to dislike it. If you want to add some style, stick a wedge of lime in the neck as our friends across the Atlantic like to do.
