The Cosmopolitan is one of the world’s most popular cocktails – so in demand over the years that bartenders from New York to San Francisco have claimed to be its inventor. Like most great cocktails, it’s simple. It’s usually made with vodka, cranberry juice, triple sec (orange liqueur) and a bit of lime. This one, obviously, has no vodka.
The Cosmo was a favourite of the party-loving Sex and the City girls. So, how does this more sober version measure up? It’s not bad at all. It’s perhaps a little too sweet, although we found the aftertaste pleasantly sharp. As with all mixed drinks, it’s always going to be a matter of taste how much of what goes into it. So, you’ll have to find out for yourself whether this is the Cosmo for you.
