Payroll Giving

Give to Alcohol Change UK through your monthly pay

Did you know you could give to charity, straight from your salary each payday? Payroll giving really helps us to plan for the future and achieve our mission, to end alcohol harm in the UK.

What is payroll giving?

Payroll giving, also known as Workplace Giving and Give As You Earn (GAYE), is when you donate to charity straight from your pay – your donation is taken out before you pay tax (by your employer), making it the most tax efficient way to give.

Your donation will automatically stop when you leave your employer.

What are the benefits?

  1. It’s easy to do – Use our form or speak to your employer to set up.
  2. Privacy - We don't need your bank details as the donation will come straight to us from your monthly pay.
  3. You're in charge - You can decide how much, change the amount or stop your donation at any time by contacting your payroll department
  4. Tax efficient - The tax relief you get depends on the rate of tax you pay. The below is for guidance ONLY (seek advice from a tax professional for personalised information).

When you donate £1, you pay:

  • 80p if you’re a basic rate taxpayer
  • 60p if you’re a higher rate taxpayer
  • 55p if you’re an additional rate taxpayer

How to sign up for payroll giving

To become a payroll giver, simply use our online form and we'll do the rest. Or alternatively you can speak to your employer.
