A review of Leffe Blond - lovely golden colour with the depth of flavour and aroma of a great Weißbiere.
Score:
5/5
The monks of Leffe Abby in Belgium started brewing beer in 1240, as the local water wasn’t especially safe to drink. These day, Leffe Blond is brewed by AB InBev rather than by monks, and it’s as popular as ever.
The alcoholic strength of Leffe beers usually varies between 6.6% and 9%. So, producing a 0.0% beer in 2020 was quite a leap for the brewers. We’re glad to report that it was a successful leap. The resultant beer has a lovely golden colour and a decent head. It’s got the flavour and aroma of a great Weißbiere – and a nice depth of flavour, without the lack of body that often makes some alcohol-free beers a bit disappointing.
Very simply, if you like Leffe Blond, you’re probably going to like this beer.
