A review of Thornbridge Zero Five - a great pale ale with orange peel infused in the brew.

Thornbridge are one of Britain’s most enterprising new breweries. Established in 2005 in the grounds of a Derbyshire stately home, they’ve become well-known for creating unexpected flavours. If you were going to ask anyone to make an interesting low-alcohol beer, you’d probably ask them.

This pale ale comes in a beautiful bottle that caught our attention straight away. The beer inside has a lovely golden colour, and quite a hoppy flavour but not too hoppy. Basically, they’ve got the balance just about right. The orange peel added during the brewing gives it a delicious aftertaste. It’s also remarkably low in calories.

We don’t often give a beer 5 out of 5. But when you can’t really think of anything you’d want to change about it, that score is only fair.

We found it on sale in Morrison’s.
