Alcohol Change UK’s annual online conference: Removing barriers to engagement with alcohol treatment and support

Not everyone experiences alcohol harm in the same way. Each person has a unique history that can influence their patterns of alcohol use, how they think about alcohol, and how those around them respond to their drinking behaviour.

Not every service is equally accessible to everyone either. Join us for our annual online conference to learn how your service can reach and engage with a wider range of people and communities.

Alcohol Change UK’s conferences and seminars are focused on bringing together the best research and practice, to help all of us who are working to reduce alcohol harm to do that more effectively.

Speakers will include:

  • Dr James Brown on supporting adults with ADHD
  • Michelle Gavin on making alcohol support accessible to Gypsy and Traveller communities
  • Louise McIvor on mutual aid for LGBTQ+ people affected by drugs, alcohol and chemsex
  • Dr Jo-Anne Puddephatt on mental health and alcohol in minority ethnic communities
  • Mike Ward on why waiting for alcohol-dependent drinkers to show enthusiasm for change is often a mistake
