We were intrigued by this Halloween pumpkin-spiced beer from Big Drop. Would it be a trick or treat? Well, we think it’s definitely the latter. In fact, it’s a treat not just for Halloween, but right through the autumn and winter. Pumpkin might seem an odd choice to use in an ale, but it works really well with spices like cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg, and you’ll find all three of those here.
It has a beautiful dark copper colour. Maybe it does feel a bit thin for a winter warmer, perhaps lacking some of the body of the excellent milk stout from the same brewery. But if you like your spiced brews, you should definitely give this one a go.
“Perfect for relaxing by the fireplace after a walk amongst the autumn leaves,” say Big Drop. And we won’t argue with that!
