The Theakston family brewery has been turning out remarkable ales since 1827. Their world-famous Old Peculier is named after a Medieval officer of the Archdiocese of York. The beer itself may not be quite that old but it has been described as “the original real ale”. It’s also famously quite strong for a draft beer.

So, what’s it’s like with “nowt tekken out but the alcohol”? The answer is, it’s very good. If you like dark, malty ales – basically, if you like Old Peculier – you’re going to like this. It’s just like the original but alcohol-free.
