Sainsbury’s Session Ale

A review of Sainsbury’s Session Ale - thirst-quenching but middle-of-the-road taste.

Score:

2/5

ABV: 0.5%
Calories per bottle: 115 (23 per 100ml)

Sainsbury’s seem to have been expanding their own-brand low-alcohol range during 2021, including the launch of this 0.5% Session Ale, brewed in France.

The packaging is a little dull, although the dancing frog on the label is a cute touch. The beer itself is golden and lively. It doesn’t have much of an aroma and the taste is a bit middle-of-the-road. It’s ideal for quenching a thirst but it’s not the most interesting beer you’ll find at 0.5% ABV.
