Dry January® is a real challenge and whilst I can't guarantee I can go the entire month without a glass of prosecco or two, I know that my body needs a break. But that doesn't mean a month of tap water! Liverpool has plenty of great options for those who are cutting out or giving up alcohol.
Check out this blog post from blogger Ruth Fishwick, who writes the blog Ruth Writes, and discover the best spots in Liverpool for Dry January® and beyond!
The brink
One of Liverpool's first dry bars and restaurants is The Brink, which you'll find on Parr Street. Smoothies, mocktails and soft drinks are the order of the day, so why not make a pit stop during January to watch one of the live bands that play at the venue?
TGI Fridays
You may have given up the alcohol for a while, but no one said anything about indulgent food so why not head over to TGI's for a burger and bite to eat... oh and one of their deliciously fruity mocktails? Tall glass? Tick. Loaded with ice and fruit? Tick. You won't even notice your drink is sans alcohol...
Santa Maluco
If the pizza cravings are real, get yourself down to Castle Street for a slice or five and one of their infamous flavoured shakes. Utterly delicious and available in a variety of flavours. Salted caramel is the one for me.
Liv Organic Food Market
If you haven't been to the Liv Organic Food Market on Bold Street, I suggest you get yourself down there sharpish! Browse the aisles and stock up on natural and organic juices to create your own mocktails or grab a bite to eat in the cafe area, enjoying a glass of pink lemonade at the same time. For me a delicious glass of non-alcoholic fizz is every mouthful as enjoyable as a glass of prosecco!

The charity work to create a world in which alcohol does no harm. Even if you don't fall into that bracket, it's always helpful to be self-aware!
