The Asahi brewery was founded in Osaka way back in 1889. Since then, their Super Dry beer has become Japan’s most popular, and the biggest Japanese beer in the UK. It’s known for its crisp, dry flavour. Launched in 2023, Asahi Super Dry 0.0% seeks to replicate that taste with zero alcohol.

What’s it like? Not bad at all. It’s a nice lager, with a hint of radler or shandy, but is saved from going too far down that road by a nice underlying bitterness. Well chilled, it will certainly slake your thirst.

It’s the Official beer of the 2023 Rugby World Cup, which may be a first for an alcohol-free beer. This may be because the tournament is being played in France, where you can’t sell alcoholic drinks in sports stadiums.
