Duncan and Mike set up Days Brewing in Edinburgh in 2020, aiming to create beer “without the side effects”. Unlike many other low-ABV beers, it’s been brewed at 0.0% rather than having the alcohol taken out of it later.
It’s made with soft water from the Lammermuir Hills and locally grown barley. It comes in a nice bottle with a cheerful font and a colour scheme that gives it the look of a quality drink. We wouldn’t necessarily call it a “pale ale” – it’s too dark and malty for that, and similar to like amber beers like Doom Bar Zero and Old Speckled Hen Low Alcohol – but it’s not short on bitter hops either, and it is undoubtedly delicious.
