This great-tasting pilsner was one of 2020’s unexpected finds. As far as we know, this is the first Lithuanian beer we’ve reviewed on these pages. The Švyturys Brewery, in the coastal town of Klaipėda, was founded way back in 1784 and is one of the oldest breweries in Lithuania. Their “traditional collection” varies between 5% and 8% but they’re also experts in the 0.5% category, as this pilsner demonstrates.

It’s got a lovely golden colour. It pours with a decent head. It’s not too sweet and it’s got a nice bite. Alcohol-free lager doesn’t get much better than this.

In Lithuania, Go Pilsner is sold alongside a low-alcohol pale ale and wheat beer from the same brewery. As far as we know, it’s only the pilsner that’s on sale in the UK at the moment. We found it on sale in Sainsbury’s.
