Rotfruchtig” is “red and fruity” in German, and this may well be the fruitiest drinks we’ve tried in a while. That’s not surprising, as it’s made with the juices of apples, pears, sour cherries, blackcurrants and quinces.
Our taste-testers had a collective moment of joy when they tried this drink. Everyone thought it smelled like Christmas, with delightful notes of cinnamon, cardamom and plum; and the taste was just as good. As one person said, before taking the remainder home, “I’d drink this by the barrel”.
