Stout seems to have gone out of fashion with the drinking public over the last few years, overshadowed by the great British punter’s seemingly inexhaustible thirst for hoppy craft ales. So, we were surprised to come across Thornbridge’s new Little by Little 0.5% Milk Stout. Very pleasantly surprised.
For starters, it tastes great. Dark, indulgent, with lovely coffee undertones, it’s a drink you can enjoy on a cold winter’s evening or as part of a summer’s picnic. Somewhat on the fizzy side, perhaps, but overall, it’s a fabulous offering, we’d say. And due the lack of alcohol content, ‘little by little’ can easily become a lot. But without the risk of a morning-after hangover. What’s not to like?
