The alcohol-free drinks category has been dominated by beers so far, with the low-ABV wine market lagging a bit behind. The truth is that wine without alcohol is notoriously difficult to get right.
The most successful 0.5% wines are sparkling ones – like this Bolle Oro. (“Bolle” is Italian for bubbles; and “oro” is gold, which is a good description of the colour).
It’s very lively and has a nice Champagne aroma. There’s just a hint of yeast in the taste, and a nice bite that balances the sweetness. It’s at its best well-chilled.
