The Budvar brewery has attracted plenty of attention over the years – mostly as a result of their claim to the right to use the term ‘Budweiser’ to describe their beer.
Aside from that long-running dispute with the makers of America’s favourite beer, Budvar are also known for producing their own great beers. So, we were pleased to see this Budvar Nealko on sale in Lidl in the autumn of 2023.
The Czech Republic is well-known for good light beers, and this one is no exception. It’s attractively packaged in the Budvar style and immediately caught our attention. The beer inside the bottle is a really nice lively lager, with plenty of head and a little bit of bitterness. Well chilled, it’s a real treat.
