A review of Chouffe lager, a cloudy, amber-coloured beer with plenty of foam.
Score:
5/5
Chouffe beers are a well-established Belgian favourite, and well-known for their unique undulating brown bottles, each one carrying a red-hatted gnome undertaking some kind of endearing activity.
The brewery was founded by two brothers-in-law in the 1970s. Chouffe Alcoholvrij is a little newer than that and arrived in shops in the UK in 2023. It’s a cloudy, amber-coloured lager, with plenty of foam. It’s light, refreshing, and full of flavour. What’s not to like?
