Man alive! This is easy to drink! It’s a perfect brew from the Counter Culture kombucha makers in Bristol.

TXT in a Bottle manages to be refined, without being pretentious. All the flavours work together to bring you a drink that’s elegant, refreshing and flavourful, all at once. The piquant tart tangs of the kombucha are in the car, but they are not at the wheel. They’re sat in the back while the Vimto-esque fruit tones drive, and the spicey Christmasy cinnamon flavours hold the map. There’s a lot going on in that little can, but nothing is stark or working against the other elements. It’s all headed in the same direction.

It’s a bit like a mulled cider, and I can see it working well when you might normally have a hot drink. Alternatively, it would be a good stand-in for some red wines, like a Malbec. I can definitely see it pairing well with a semi-hard or blue cheese or cured or red meat. If you were building a charcuterie board, this could easily find a place alongside it. You could also just grab the can on its own and give it a go. I don’t think you’ll regret it at all.
