Just as the world of gin gets more diverse each year, so the world of alcohol-free gin has strayed a long way from stuff that tastes like traditional London Dry Gin. Ginish is made with juniper but that’s not the most obvious flavour. There’s a florid note, almost like lavender, and a spicy kick from capsicum.
It was created by Morten Sørensen, and there’s a nice little video here, in Danish with an explanation in English, where he explains the thinking behind Ginish and its sister-drink Rumish. You can pick some Ginish and Rumish up in Holland and Barrett.
