Captain Morgan is one of the world’s most popular rums, made by one of the world's biggest spirits producers. Diageo have already ventured into the alcohol-free market with 0.0% Gordon’s and Tanqueray gins, and this new Captain Morgan Spiced Gold 0.0% suggests that they’re serious about increasing their low-ABV offer.
This is a nice-looking drink, gold in colour with a soft but spicy aroma, and the taste is a good balance of sweetness and heat. Unlike most alcohol-free spirits, it’s pleasant to drink neat, but probably works best when mixed. We had it with cola, but it’s a good substitute for standard-strength rum in a whole range of cocktails. A valuable addition to any drinks cabinet!
