This Elderberry and Hibiscus and tipple is another new offering from the London Essence Company, established in 1896 and recently reinvigorated as purveyors of high-end mixers. Of course, you don’t have to mix a mixer; and if you do mix it, you don’t have to mix it with alcohol. Just like the White Peach and Jasmin drink above, you can take this one out on its own too.
As so often, our taste testers were divided on this drink. Some loved it, others thought it was a bit too similar to black current soda (the pub staple of teetotallers in the 1980s). Once again, you’ll have to try it yourself to find out. You can buy it at Waitrose and via Ocado, both of whom stock a range of other London Essence drinks.
