Full of life! Or so says the tag line of No.1 Living, founded in 2018 by England rugby legend, Johnny Wilkinson. All of their products are dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan, and are packed with live cultures for gut health.

Johnny began brewing kombucha at home with his wife, who was studying to become a nutritionist. He wanted to share his new-found passion for healthy eating and drinking with others, and so founded No.1 Living.

You can buy this kombucha in either a can or a bottle, both easily recycled. When poured, it emits a very light delicate fragrance and has a translucent yellow colour in the glass. It’s got the typical gentle fizz of a kombucha, which brings the drink to life further. The fiery taste from the black pepper is very pleasant and complements the ginger well for a more complex flavour.

As with any kombucha, this one can be enjoyed with any meal for a refreshing palate cleanser or to sip throughout. With all the ginger, it would work especially well with East Asian foods.

The manufacturers say it is not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or young children.
