Nunc kombuchas are made in Buckinghamshire from natural ingredients, and they’re relative newcomers to the market – the company was founded in 2020.
This Rose Blush drink has a beautiful pink colour. I had to double-check it’s not artificially coloured when I poured it – it’s so vibrant!
The producers claim that it doesn’t have the strong vinegar taste of other kombuchas, and they’re quite right. The fermented flavour of vinegar is still there – but in a far more sophisticated way than many of their competitors’ drinks. The predominant tastes are hibiscus and rose, giving an overall sweet floral vibe.
I poured this drink into a highball glass and then realised it needs a proper wine glass, and to be sipped like a wine. It’s a perfect summer drink – to enjoy with ice and a strawberry, maybe.
