Rheinbach is a small town in the far west of Germany that was once part of France. It’s famous for its glassworks and is also the home of this unpretentious little beer, which is on sale on Aldi in the UK.

As you might expect from a shop known for its lack of fuss, this beer comes in a standard brown bottle with straightforward label says exactly what it is: a German-style alcohol-free beer. It’s got a nice aroma, a lovely golden colour, and a rich flavour. It’s perhaps more like a weißbier than lager, but its light, refreshing and very drinkable.
