There was a time when Beck's Blue was often the only alcohol-free beer you’d find in pub fridges. It’s rarely on its own there these days, but it’s still holding its ground.

Like many of the best German beers, it’s brewed according to the 1516 Reinheitsgebot – the Medieval law decreeing that beer can only be made from water, barley and hops, and nothing more.

It’s got a nice colour and aroma. The initial taste is fairly smooth, with a long bitter aftertaste. It’s not our favourite alcohol-free lager but it’s worth a try, particularly if you like some bitterness in your beer.
