Belgian fruit beers have a special place in the heart of some beer fans. Few would want to drink them all the time, but, now and again, they’re very nice indeed. The best of them strike the perfect balance between traditional beer flavours and fruitiness, without either one dominating.
Chouffe Cherry is normally classed as a strong beer – at 8% ABV – so for the brewery to also offer it at 0.0% is a bold move. How did they do? No bad at all! It’s a little gassier than the stronger version, but, otherwise, all the familiar flavours, aromas and textures are there.
It feels like a comforting winter drink, but it could work well, chilled on a sunny day too.
