The name Nekta is drawn in part from the Punjabi word “ekta”, meaning unity. Nekta drinks have been created by two British Punjabi brothers who were looking to promote shame-free, alcohol-free living. Every purchase of Nekta helps fund the work of No More Pretending, an organisation supporting recovery in the Punjabi community.

As one of our taste-testers said, with cacoa and chai as major ingredients, you might expect something quite heavy and milky, but this is much lighter than that.

As soon as it’s opened, there are striking scents of turmeric and chamomile. This carries on into the taste, where the floral flavour of the chamomile and the warmth of the turmeric offer the perfect balance and a calming alternative to sweet fizzy drinks. Overall, the drink is refreshing yet subtle.
