We first came across Spirits of Virtue in 2019 when we reviewed their Dochus whisky-type drink. They’ve expanded their range significantly since then and it now includes this Hibiscus and Rose alcohol-free spirit, clearly aimed at lovers of fruit gins.

The thing that sets this drink apart from a lot of its competitors is its balance: bitterness is balanced with sweetness; and it’s florid but not excessively so. Mixed with tonic, it’s very nice indeed. It’s a great looking drink too, with a lovely rose-pink colour, and it comes in a great bottle with a nice white and silver colour-scheme and a neat image of a Victorian traveller reminiscent of Phileas Fogg or Isambard Brunel.
