This enjoyable sparkling drink is made with muscat grape juice – which is widely used in wine production – along with blackcurrant juice.
At first, it tastes a bit like the alcohol-free wines of the past – like red grape juice, sweet and a little heavy. But then come the bubbles, and the sharpness of the blackcurrants, which lift it out of that territory.
Sainsbury’s recommend treating it as a summer drink and serving it with ice. We also thought it worked well at room temperature as a cheering winter drink.
