The history of the Whitley Neill distillery goes back to 1762, and they are still the only gin distillery in the old City of London. They produce a wide range of gins with a remarkable variety of botanical ingredients – from pineapple to cucumber. As far as we know, these two drinks – launched in 2022 – are their first alcohol-free offerings.

Unlike most alcohol-free spirits, these actually taste pretty good on their own – although they’re even better when mixed with a good tonic. There’s none of the overly florid aroma that makes some drinks in this category a bit like hard work. Instead, there are some lovely fruity flavours. The Rhubarb and Ginger was inspired by English country gardens; Raspberry is packed with Scottish fruit. They’re both a little sweet but not excessively so.

Like all Whitley Neill drinks, the bottles are really nice, and would enhance the look of anyone’s drinks collection.
