We’ve said it before, but it’s worth repeating: when big brands like this one start launching alcohol-free versions of old favourites, you kind of know that sober drinking is no flash in the pan.

Full-strength Tanqueray gin was first produced in the 1830s in London. It’s won a shedload of awards and it’s big in the USA, Canada and Spain. It’s owned by the international spirits company Diageo, who also produce Gordon’s 0.0. So, in a sense, they’re competing with themselves. But, just as in the alcohol market, Gordon’s 0.0 and Tanqueray 0.0 are subtly different to each other. Both are juniper-heavy traditional London Gins, but Tanqueray 0.0 has a bit more bite or bitterness. If you like one, you probably won’t like the other – take your pick!

Interestingly, in early 2021 the Wine and Spirit Trade Association declared that drinks shouldn’t be called "gin" if they don’t contain any alcohol, as that leads to “confusion for consumers”. As it happens, we’re not confused at all and we thought that Tanqueray 0.0 was a great drink: 5 out of 5, we say!
