This is the second alcohol-free cider from Somerset cider-makers Thatchers. Their first offering was a traditional cider. This one is certainly not.
It’s a great-looking drink, with a striking deep orange colour and it comes in a well-designed bottle that hints at quality. As regards its flavour, it’s very different to most ciders. One reason is that it’s made with dessert apples, rather than sourer cider apples. Plus, the oranges come through as strongly as the apples, if not stronger.
If you’re looking for an old-fashioned cider with bite, this is probably not for you. If sweet fruity drinks are your thing, you’re should definitely give it go.
