This Dark and Spicy drink is the second offering from the Bristol-based Caleño drinks company, alongside their Light and Zesty drink launched in 2019.
Uninspired by the alcohol-free drinks she found on offer in bars, Ellie Webb decided it was time to “bring some joy to not drinking”. She may just have succeeded. Caleño Dark and Spicy is made with pineapple, coconut, ginger, black cardamom, vanilla, kola nut and lime. It’s a little bit like a spicy Piña Volada. There’s also a hint of chocolate – maybe it’s the cola nuts. Overall, this drink is unique.
On the bottle, it recommends you try it with soda and fresh lime, although there are quite a few other cocktail suggestions on the Caleño website.
