Paige's Story

I’m running the London Half Marathon in memory of my dad —  who lost his life at just 43 to alcohol poisoning. There isn’t a day that goes by when I don’t miss him. It breaks my heart knowing he never got to see the person I’ve become or meet my children — to share in their laughter, their achievements, and all the moments that make life special.

My dad was so much more than his addiction, he faced complex battles with alcohol and mental health illnesses that he just couldn’t overcome. Watching someone you love go through that pain leaves you feeling helpless. I often wish I could have done more — said more, helped more.

Now, I’m channelling that pain into purpose. Running this half marathon is my way of helping others who are still fighting.

I want to raise awareness and funds for Alcohol Change UK — an incredible charity working to change the way our society thinks about addiction, and to support people and families affected by alcohol harm.

This run is for my dad, for every person who’s ever felt lost in their struggles, and for every family who’s stood by someone they love. It’s a reminder that change is possible — that even small steps can lead to something life-changing.

Every mile I run is a step towards hope, healing, and a future where fewer families have to face the same heartbreak. Together, we can make a difference — one stride, one story, one change at a time.
